Welcome to my world

The journey of a shepherd girl to the pyramids in search of treasure, discovering my personal legend and the wisdom gained from following my dreams along the way.

Hello, my name is Tram Thuy Nguyen or you can call me Krysten

Originally from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, I came halfway around the world to the United States to explore, learn, and elevate myself to new heights, stepping out of my comfort zone and into a world I had never seen before.

I carry with me a suitcase filled with ambition, curiosity, fearlessness, and a willingness to learn, engage, and contribute wherever I go.

I’m curious about where my journey will take me over the next 10 years. But one thing for sure that as I grow as a person my values, which have defined me, will never change.

Experiences

With over four years of experience in sales and customer service, I am deeply passionate about building a long-term career in risk management, client advisory, and broker relationships. I would like to bring the skill sets I have cultivated over the past several years and integrate them into the U.S. finance and insurance industry. My goal is to become the final link in the value chain—connecting comprehensive portfolios of solutions to clients in a way that exceeds their expectations.

Education

Alongside my professional experience, I am pursuing the Master of Science in Financial and Enterprise Risk Management (MS FERM) at the University of Connecticut, Stamford, while developing expertise in U.S. capital markets, risk management, and banking regulations. I am also executing a four-year plan to complete the FINRA Series exams and the CFA/CFP designations.

Skills

My skill set includes sales, customer service, relationship management, real estate planning, banking services, insurance, public speaking, and financial risk analysis. I am proficient in R (statistical programming language), Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Canva, and the Bloomberg Terminal software suite. I continuously refine and expand my skills through daily practice and learning.

Activities

With a genuine passion for learning, I consistently show up—attending events, workshops, and volunteering for activities hosted by UConn Experiential Learning. These experiences allow me to engage in weekly industry talks with leaders from Goldman Sachs, KPMG, PwC, IBM, and other top firms, as well as participate in real-time portfolio management.

Hobbies

Beyond my professional pursuits, I find joy in tennis, traveling, reading, and learning. Movies and meditation help me slow down, while daily and monthly journaling is my most meaningful habit – a quiet space where I reflect, create, and grow.

Following my love for writing, I enjoy sharing stories about my journey, the lessons I have learned along the way, and my reflections on books, movies, and meaningful moments in life with the hope of helping someone, even just one person, find greater motivation and inspiration to pursue their dreams.

2025 Wrapped!

Looking back at 2025 (and the recent winter break), the biggest lesson I have learned is

I did it!

I did it! Something I thought was impossible.

Standing here in the United States, I feel an overwhelming mix of happiness and reflection. I look back on this journey and the whirlwind of emotions I’ve lived through…

I work hard, play hard, and endeavor to live a meaningful purposeful life!
