Mine? I donโt think any future RISKWORLD will ever feel quite like this one.
In just one week, I volunteered at the conference, built meaningful friendships with professionals from around the world, received a summer internship offer as a ๐ฅ๐ถ๐๐ธ ๐๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ป in a field that aligns perfectly with both my background and long-term goals, and learned from people and companies across every phase of the RMI industry.
I also sat for the RIMS-CRMP exam in person at the conference.
And yes, I passed.

But honestly, getting there was far from easy.
As a full-time graduate student and first-generation college student, I was figuring out tickets, accommodations, and travel expenses entirely on my own. And the timing? RISKWORLD happened right in the middle of finals week – the most critical week of my semester.
During that time, I was:
โ Finishing group projects and preparing for final exams while protecting a cumulative 4.0 GPA I worked incredibly hard for.
โ Studying for the CRMP exam.
โ Volunteering at the conference (twice)
โ Traveling, networking, and showing up fully every single day.
โ Asking professors for permission to take exams remotely.
โ Managing two on-campus jobs.
Everything happened at once.
And somehow, I chose to say yes to all of it.
Was it risky to fail? Absolutely.
Was it overwhelming at times? Also yes.
But maybe thatโs part of becoming a risk manager: learning not to avoid risks, but to make better decisions, to take the right ones with courage, preparation, and purpose.
Because some opportunities do not come twice.
I left RISKWORLD deeply inspired and even more motivated to work harder, smarter, and with greater intention. To continue becoming a better version of myself, so that every year I return to RISKWORLD, I arrive as someone new.
And honestly, I cannot wait to meet that future version of myself.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to speak with me, encourage me, guide me, and share your stories. I remember every conversation, and I truly appreciate each one of you.
Grateful for every experience, every lesson, and every person I met along the way.
You all made this journey meaningful.
